samen Wer YAS ehh Ske
This is an increase of one full standard numerical size mini- mum.
We always fill our orders with the largest we have in the size or- dered. If it is necessary for us to substitute size, we use a bigger size or give additional bulbs.
MORE EXTRA BULBS—It has been our practice for years to send extra bulbs with orders of $2.00 or more. As a result of greater grow- ing facilities we can now share more than in the past. We have dropped some of the “odds-and-ends” from our catalog to speed and simplify our packing and shipping. This will save us some expense, and this saving will be passed on to you with MORE EXTRA BULBS of newer and more expensive varieties.
We want to thank all of our friends and customers for their busi-
ness and many friendly letters, and to wish you all Happy Gardening Iie LOD Se

BUCKEYE BRONZE (Wilson—Midsea- son—Large) A handsome burnished bronze. We consider this a man’s flower. It has the beauty of a well used meerschaum pipe. Ladies like it too for reasons more subtle. It has many ribbons to its credit. Large: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for 80¢. Medium: 3 for 25¢ or 10 for 60¢.
BURMA (Palmer — Midseason — Large) Deep rose, heavily ruffled. Florets are so large and laced and so well spaced on the spike, the effect is that of one long bloom tapering to a graceful touch of color at the tip. Large: 2 for 20¢ or 10 for 80¢. Medium: 3 for 25¢ or 10 for 60¢.

BURMA ROSE (Lasch—Late—Large) Light rose red. This sport of “Burma” is exactly like its parent in shape of floret and plant growth. The color is more re- strained but not its beauty. Some like ’em dark, and some like ’em dainty. Large: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for $1.00. Medium: 3 for 25¢ or 10 for 80¢.
CAMPANILE (Fischer—Late Midseason —Large) Lavender with a bluish luster. A white mark in the throat makes the lavender even more lustrous. Petals roll back slightly, and are ruffled just enough. This is the new lavender we have needed for so long. Very tall and strong grower. We list large bulbs, but medium will do just about as well if weather is good. Large: 1 for 35¢ or 2 for 50¢. Medium: 1 for 25¢ or 10 for $2.00.
CIRCE (K & M — Midseason — Giant) Scarlet-orange with delicate cream mark- ing in the throat. Massive, plain-petalled, wide open florets on vigorous spikes. If there is any glad which you can neglect, this is it. Naturally, tender-loving-care is always best. Large: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for $1.00. Medium: 3 for 25¢ or 10 for 70¢.
CRUSADER (Fischer—EARLY—Large) White with lavender mark in throat. Ruf- fled. Can be made into arrangements which will be remembered long after the flowers are gone. LARGE: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for $1.00. Medium: 3 for 25¢ or 10 for 75¢.
DARK DAVID (Morgan—Late—Giant) Dark red-maroon. Some of the dark reds like to hide behind the other flowers in your garden, but this one will get up where you can see it. Heavy textured florets on a tall, solid spike. Large: 1 for 25¢ or 10 for $2.00. Medium: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for $1.00.

DREAM GIRL (Krueger—Midseason— Medium) Rose with suggestion of blue tint. A healthy grower with an appear- ance of fragile beauty. Large: 2 for 30¢ or 10 for $1.25. Medium: 2 for 20¢ or 10 for 80¢.
DUSK (Fischer — Late-Mid — Large)
Smokey, rose pink. Very soft, quiet color-
ing with white throat. For those who like
the exotic. Unusual without being so
strange as to detract. Large: 2 for 35¢ or
4 for $1.40. Medium: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for 1.00.
DUSTY MILLER (Elliot—Late-Midsea- son—Large) Smokey, old rose marked with cream and white. One of the most reliable smokies, opening 8 large blooms on a 20 bud spike. Large: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for $1.00. Medium: 3 for 25¢ or 10 for 65¢.
ELMER’S ROSE (Fischer—Late-Midsea- son—Large) Deep rose, heavily ruffled. Opens 7 to 8 leathery-textured blooms on long flower heads. Will grow five feet tall or more with moderate care. The rich rose colored bloom will gladden your heart as a cut flower for exhibition or commer- cial use. Large: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for $1.00. Medium: 2 for 20¢ or 10 for 80¢.
ERIN (Pruitt—Large—Early) GREEN. This is a chartreuse green shading to a darker green in the center. We grew a few as a novelty at the start, but find that florists are willing to pay a premium for the cut flowers to use in arrangements which call for something special. Tall spike with 6 to 8 opening at a time. We know of no other glad which resembles it in any way. The demand for bulbs ex- ceeds the supply. This will be a scarce bulb for years to come. Erin is not a freak, but a strong, attractive flower of many uses. Large only: 1 for $1.00 or 10 for $8.00.
EVANGELINE (Palmer — Midseason — Giant) Light rose with cream throat. Very tall. There are other light rose glads, but they are not like this one. Evangeline is tall and stately with no suggestion of frailty. An old-timer which is still grown extensively because of its reliability, clear color, and long stems. Large: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for $1.00. Medium: 2 for 20¢ or 10 for 80¢.
FIRE OPAL (Fischer — Midseason — Large) Deep orange with golden throat. This color combination has to be seen to be appreciated. Very bright clear colors with 6 or 8 florets open at a time. Looks like a torch at night. Brilliant. A good show flower which won’t let you down. Large: 1 for 25¢ or 10 for $2.00. Medium: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for $1.00.
FIRMAMENT (K & M—Early—Medi- um) Violet-blue with flecks of white just showing. Dainty, pastel. Very early, new variety. Rather short spike but plenty of florets. Will crook occasionally. You will like this one very much or not at all. Large: 2 for 30¢ or 10 for $1.20. Medium: 2 for 20¢ or 10 for 80¢.
FORSYTHIA (Harris — Midseason — Large) Yellow. Well named for color. Deeply ruffled and crinkly fluting. ban strong, and dependable. Florets always look as though they had opened that very instant just for you. Not just “another yellow.” Large: 2 for 30¢ or 10 for $1.20. Medium: 2 for 20¢ or 10 for 80¢.
FRANCESCA (Toben — Mid to late — Giant) Lavender-rose-pink, with a touch of cream at the throat. At a glance you would call it lavender, but you discover much more when you look again. Niccly ruffled florets on long, well-tapered spikes. Any words we use are only a shadow of this flower. You just have to see it. The moderate cost of this bulb is no indication of its real value. It is priceless. Large: 2 for 35¢ or 10 for $1.40. Medium: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for $1.00.
FRIENDSHIP (Fischer — EARLY — Large) Pink. An old-timer but still one of the best pure pink. Soft color, ruffled, tall, opens 8 to 10 or more at a time. EARLY. Florets are a little widely spaced, but when you have a spike with twenty buds, half of which are open, you can hardly ask for more. Large: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for $1.00. Medium: 3 for 25¢ or 10 for 65¢.
GAIL (Farrington— Midseason— Large) A light lavender, shading to a deeper tone at the petal edges. The lower petals have rose-cerise penciling deep in the throat. Gail grows tall, never crooks, and always produces stretchy spikes. Large: 2 for 2£¢ or 10 for $1.00. Medium: 2 for 20¢ or 10 for 80¢.
GENE (Farrington — Early — Medium) Yellow. Heavily ruffled. This is the one to plant if you wish to have yellow with your early glads of other colors. Large: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for $1.00. Medium: 3 for 25¢ or 10 for 70¢.
HARRISBURGER (Mikle—Late—Giant) Deep cherry red. Unusually large florets on strong stem. A rugged all-weather flower which stands almost any condi- tions. Its vigorous growth is matched by spectacular color. You can see this onela mile away. Slower growing than most, so plant early; it’s worth waiting for. Plant a little deeper than most. Tall heavy stalks. No longer scarce, but still not common. Large: 1 for 20¢ or 10 for $1.60. Medium: 2 for 20¢ or 10 for $1.20.

KING DAVID (Carlson — Midseason — Giant) Deep purple with velvety red throat and slightly silvered fringe at the petals edge. Ruffled, fluted florets would be charming in any color. Tall. Twenty or more buds are common. Wins prizes again and again. Cut this one early in the morn- ing if days are hot. The edges of the petals don’t like extreme heat. Large: 2 for 30¢ or 10 for $1.20. Medium: 2 for 20¢ or 10 for 80¢.
KING SIZE (Hartman — Late — Giant) Clear salmon petals with light cream-yel- low throat. Lower throat flecked with bright red. This one grows so tall that you can sit in its shade on a hot summer day. Well, almost. It has won many prizes on the merits of the flower alone. Plant early; this is a slow one. Large: 1 for 25¢ or 10 for $2.00. Medium: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for $1.00.
LEIF ERICKSON (K & M—Midseason —Giant) Cream-yellow. Giant ruffled flor- ets on tall stem. Well known commer- cially grown glad. Uniform and reliable. As good as some others of this color which cost more. Large: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for $1.00. Medium: 3 for 25¢ or 10 for 70¢.
LORELIE (Howell—Midseason—Large) Old ivory with dark yellow throat. Twenty or more buds opening 8 to 10 at a time. The pure gold of the throat framed by light creamy petals is unusual and delight- ful. New and different. Large: 1 for 50¢ or 10 for $4.00. Medium: 1 for 35¢ or 10 for $2.80.
MABLE VIOLET (Salmon—Midseason —Giant) Frosty, purple-violet. This is one of the best Holland originations which we have seen in this color. The glowing bril- liance of the color is unusual. This one has a sparkle and luster all its own. Heavy textured florets. Spike is strong but not rigid. Large: 1 for 20¢ or 10 for $1.60. Medium: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for $1.00.
MARSHALL MONTGOMERY (Salmon —Midseason—Giant) A _ glistening dark velvety red, slightly shaded to a lighter scarlet. Blooms have a wonderful sheen. A favorite of everyone who sees it. Opens 6 to 8 nicely ruffled florets. Large: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for $1.00. Medium: 3 for 25¢ or 10 for 70¢.
MOTHER FISCHER (Fischer—Midsea- son—Large) White, tall, ruffled. A truly magnificent glad of such sterling growth habits that nothing more could be desired. This one is rapidly coming to the lead as midseason commercial white. Bulbs are not scarce, but demand exceeds supply every year. Large: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for $1.00. Medium: 3 for 25¢ or 10 for 75¢.
MRS. R. G. ERREY (Errey—Midseason —Giant) If this huge, almost black vel- vety red has a fault, it’s that it grows too big. The spikes are really so enormous that they sometimes bend over. Everyone likes this glad, especially those who want the giants. Large: 2 for 30¢ or 10 for $1.20. Medium: 2 for 20¢ or 10 for 80¢.
PATROL (Palmer—Early—Large) Clear apricot with yellow throat. A thrilling ex- hibition variety that stands all kinds of weather. Grand Champion many times. Large: 2 for 30¢ or 10 for $1.20. Medium: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for $1.00.
PINK CHIFFON (Fischer — Early — Large) Rose pink. Very delicate shade. Exquisite lacey florets on vigorous spike. Florists will buy all they can get of this flower as it can be used for almost any purpose or arrangement. Large: 2 for 35¢ or 10 for $1.30. Medium: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for $1.00.
POINSETTIA (Johnson — Midseason — Large) Light red without markings. Blooms are slightly ruffled. A good hot weather red. Tall, straight stems always. Opens 5 to 7 at a time. Large: 2 for 30¢ or 10 for $1.20. Medium: 3 for 25¢ or 10 for $1.00.
PRINCESS (Larus—Late—Large) Rose- lavender. Really should be called lavender with slight rose tint. A little darker than Elizabeth the Queen which was one of the parents of this seedling. This appears to be the one which will lead the field in the lavender class. Still too new to be of com- mercial importance, it is steadily building a reputation as “the best.” If you have had trouble finding a pastel lavender which grows as well as your other glads, try this one. Large: 1 for 25¢ or 10 for $2.00. Medium: 1 for 15¢ or 10 for $1.20.
PROSPECTOR (Leffingwell—Midseason —Large) Yellow with contrasting lip of amber giving the flower an appearance of deeper yellow. Fluted and recurved florets open 8 to 10 or more at a time. Easily one of the best glads introduced in recent years regardless of color, and certainly one of the best of golden yellows. WE CIVEST HIS SPEGIALARECOMMEN- DATION for show or home garden. Large: 1 for 25¢ or 10 for $2.00. Medium: 2 for 30¢ or 10 for $1.20.
PURPLE BURMA (Boewe—Midseason —Giant) Deep purple sport of Burma. It has the same vigorous growth and heavily ruffled, suede like florets as its parent. If you like the richness and splendor of Burma, you will like Purple Burma even more. Large: 1 for 20¢ or 10 for $1.60. Medium: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for $1.00.

RAVEL (K & M—Early—Large) Blue- violet. The most popular blue glad. One of the earliest. Garnet marking in lower throat. Large: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for $1.00. Medium: 3 for 25¢ or 10 for 75¢.
RED RADIANCE (Melk—Midseason— Large) Bright red. A sparkling new addi- tion to the reds which is certain to take its place in the hall of fame. Supply lim- ited. Large: 1 for 25¢ or 10 for $2.00. Medium: 2 for 30¢ or 10 for $1.20.
RED WING (Wright—Early-Midseason —Large) Scarlet red, shading to a deeper throat. An old timer which has not been replaced. Not always as tall as some of the newer reds but very reliable. Grows well from medium bulbs. Large: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for $1.00. Medium: 2 for 15¢ or 10 for 70¢.
REGINA (Palmer — Midseason — Giant) Orange-yellow, heavy texture, ruffled, small scarlet mark in center. A much needed addition to the orange class. Un- usually large and strong. Large: 1 for 25¢ or 10 for $2.00. Medium: 2 for 30¢ or 10 for $1.20.
ROSITA (Woods — Early-Midseason — Giant) Old rose, silvery edged, ruffled. Tall. A SHOW WINNER! Large: 1 for 20¢ or 10 for $1.60. Medium: 2 for 30¢ or 10 for $1.20.
SALMON’S SENSATION (Salmon — Late — Giant) Medium blue. Truly a sen- sation among the blues. Very large florets on tall spike. Clear true color. Allow a little extra space for this one. Medium size only: 2 for 30¢ or 10 for $1.20.
SIERRA SNOW (Harris—Midseason— Giant) White as mountain snow. Cream throat. Tall spike and many nicely ruffled florets. Good commercial and _ reliable home garden flower, but not apt to win any prizes as the yellow mark is con- sidered a defect in judging. We like it and so will you. The judges can’t always be right. Large: 2 for 30¢ or 10 for $1.20. Medium: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for $1.00.
SNOW CLAD (Harris — Midseason — Large) A grand new white with a frosty sheen. The purity of the white and the uniformity of floret arrangement on the spike make this one of the best. Ruffled, fluted. Cream throat, delicately shaded. Taller and generally huskier than Sierra Snow. Large: 1 for 20¢ or 10 for $1.60. Medium: 2 for 30¢ or 10 for $1.20.
SOUTHERN BELLE (Fischer—Early- Midseason — Large) Bright pink with white throat and silver edge around petals. A distinctive color combination with the exciting appearance of a girl all dressed up for her first party. Large: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for $1.00. Medium: 3 for 25¢ or 10 for 70¢.
STORMY WEATHER (Barrett — Mid- season — Large) Smokey, lavender and grey, creamy throat, with rosy glow over all. No two people have ever agreed upon the exact colors in this flower, and the shades seem to change as you move the flower. Much more than a novelty, a de- light to grow and behold. Large: 2 for 30¢ or 10 for $1.20. Medium: 2 for 20¢ or 10 for 80¢.
SUSAN K (Mikle— Midseason— Large) Delicate pink with creamy yellow throat. Ruffled. One of those which warms your heart with its restrained daintiness. Me- dium height. Large: 2 for 30¢ or 10 for $1.20. Medium: 2 for 20¢ or 10 for 80¢.
SUMMER QUEEN (Fischer—Midseason —Large) Light salmon pink. Ruffled. Medium tall, very uniform and reliable. This is a new glad which is low priced because of its prolific growth and because commercial growers recognized it early as a desirable flower. Large: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for $1.00. Medium: 3 for 25¢ or 10 for 70¢.
SWEET SIXTEEN (Fischer — Early — Large) A fresh toned pink which fully de- serves its top rating. Plain, slightly rolled petals. This is a sport of Beauty’s Blush and has the same ability to produce tall spikes and full sized bloom from medium bulbs. More pronounced pink than Beauty’s Blush. No trace of salmon. A graceful, quiet flower. Taller than average. Large: 2 for 25¢ or 10 for $1.00. Medium: 3 for 25¢ or 10 for 70¢.
TAN-GLO (Arenius—Midseason—Large) Smokey, pastel tan with rosy tint. The name describes this flower as well as words can. A recent introduction, Tan- Glo is acquiring an impressive show rec- ord. Large: 1 for 25¢ or 10 for $2.00. Medium: 2 for 30¢ or 10 for $1.20.
THE RAJAH (Jack—Late-Midseason— Giant) Purple. Royal in color and royal in majestic appearance. Florets moder- ately ruffled, smooth edged, rounded. Solid color. Nothing dainty about this one. Medium: 2 for 20¢ or 10 for 80¢.

TRAVELER (Flad — Late-Midseason — Large) Light rose pink with deeper rose throat. A “natural” for exhibition. Pro- duces show quality spikes with only mod- erate care, and really puts on a show all by itself if you baby it a little. If you would like to grow a flower for a “special someone,” plant Traveler. Large: 1 for 35¢ or 10 for $2.50. Medium: 1 for 25¢ or 10 for $2.00.
TYRONE (Deam — Early-Midseason — Giant) Light lavender, clear bright, slightly darker shade at outer area of petal. Florets have unusual angular and pointed petals gently rolled at edges. Al- together a charming bloom on substantial spike. This one requires a little extra care to grow as it should, but is not what we would call a difficult glad. Large: 1 for 25¢ or 10 for $2.00. Medium: 2 for 35¢ or 10 for $1.20.
UNCLE TOM (Salmon — Midseason — Medium) Black red with deep purplish cast. About as dark as any we know. A novelty which is decidedly different. Medium: 3 for 25¢ or 10 for 70¢.
WILD ROSE (Fischer — Early-Midsea- son— Large) True wild rose color but with a much greater flashing life and glow than was ever seen on the wild flower. Clear white marking in the center reaches out to the edges in sharp pencil- ing. Gently ruffled at the edges. This is definitely not a timid flower to bloom un- seen, but one which greets you from a distance. Strong, erect, tall, heavily set with large florets. Excellent for any pur- pose! This is the last gladiolus on our
list, but one of the first in our hearts. Large: 1 for 30¢ or 10 for $2.40. Medium: 1 for 20¢ or 10 for $1.60.
